Chouteau-mazieStudents

I would like to introduce myself as the new superintendent for Chouteau-Mazie Schools.  My family and I are excited to join your community.  I look forward to working with and getting to know you.

Chouteau-Mazie school district has experienced some changes over the summer.  When students return in August they will see several new teachers, a new High School principal and many will be picked up in brand new school buses.  Thanks to the bond that was supported and passed, Chouteau-Mazie has added seven new buses to the fleet, 5 route buses , 1 Activity Bus with A/C and 1 handicap bus.

The district calendar has been approved with two important dates quickly approaching; Aug. 10- school enrollment day and Aug. 16th- the first day of school.  I’m excited about the coming year and want to encourage you to be involved.  Public schools need your help and support more now than ever.

Chouteau-Mazie High School Begins New Computer Initiative

At a special meeting held Thursday, the Chouteau-Mazie School Board voted to begin a 1:1 Computer Program for Chouteau High School. Under this program every high school student will be issued a personal laptop that they will keep for the entire school year.
Each laptop will host a range of applications and give the students access to many Internet resources. Digital textbooks, as well as many educational software packages will be available for the students to use 24/7. Students will receive their laptops shortly after school starts, and will not only use them during school, but will take them home as well.
As part of the program, the students and staff will utilize Google Apps for Education. Students will work on collaborative projects, and interact with the teaching staff digitally. They will access Google Drive for assignments, file storage, and email.
Chouteau High School will work towards creating a paperless environment, that is not only environmentally conscious, but will help foster technology skills essential in today’s business world. As part of this innovative approach to learning, this program will utilize the linux operating system. Chouteau High School students will have the opportunity to learn technical skills not normally found in other high schools.
