Dear Chouteau-Mazie Families:
I am reaching out to share with you that we were notified that one of our high school students has tested positive for the COVID-19 virus. Anyone who is known to have been in direct contact is being contacted personally by school officials, and will pivot to distance learning, and monitor for symptoms. If you have not been contacted, your student has not been identified as known direct contact. According to federal law(s) we are not at liberty to share the name of the students in order to protect their privacy.
Tonight’s non- district football game has been cancelled, and Coach Compton is trying to reschedule a game for zero week.
It is imperative that we all continue to work together to ensure our community members remain safe and healthy. Please know that Chouteau-Mazie will continue to monitor the situation and will provide additional information as we receive it.
Sincerely,
Lori Helton
Superintendent

The Class of 2020 Graduation will be held Friday June 19, 2020 at 8:00 p.m. at the Chouteau High School Football Field. IN the event of rain, it will be moved to the Memorial Gym.
We respectfully request that the number of guests be limited to up to 10 guests per graduate in order to safely social distance. We will utilize the stands for family seating marking off every other row. We will continue to follow the protocols set forth for entry into school facilities, and request that any family members who are experiencing fever, cough, and other symptoms of COVID-19, or have any known exposure to the virus to enjoy the ceremony via the live stream. Live stream information will be located either tomorrow or Friday morning. Be looking on our High School Facebook page.
We know that this has not been the ideal situation for families, graduates, or the school, however, we are making every effort to make this graduation ceremony memorable for the Class of 2020.

We were notified yesterday of the negative COVID-19 test results for the student who was possibly exposed. We will be reopening our summer programs this week with continued measures in place for social distancing, cleaning and sanitizing. We will continue to follow the protocols set forth for entry into school facilities including temperature checks.
We will monitor the ever changing situation and make adjustments as necessary.

Graduation is Friday, June 12th @ 7:00 pm, on the High School Softball Field. This is due to the football field being too wet for the chairs. Graduates, don't forget practice is at 11:00 am Friday morning. We will meet at the HS Softball field. Graduates will be allowed to reserve 7 chairs on the field for family members. Everyone is encouraged to bring lawn chairs to sit in the field behind them. Family members may also sit in the softball bleachers. The ceremony will be live streamed. The link is varsitystream.com. As a reminder, we will be observing social distancing.
